according to me, the word count is not really important. what is imprtant is whether the topic has been covered thoroughly enough.
Does every article need to be very detailed?

Not every article requires extensive length, the ideal content length depends entirely on user search intent.
When someone seeks a quick definition or straightforward answer, that response should be delivered immediately, within a few hundred words. Forcing users through a three thousand word piece for a simple query will likely cause them to bounce back to Google, ultimately harming your rankings.

Not every article needs to be long. I usually focus on covering the search intent properly and giving the reader everything they need, whether that takes 500 words or 2,000.
adding extra fluff just to hit a word count doesn’t really help.

Not every topic needs long content. It depends on the search intent and query, just focus on answering it clearly without adding unnecessary words.

I don’t think length is the important bit either. A short answer can still be a much better page if it sounds like it was written by someone who actually knows the subject.
Tone and authority matter. Specific examples, first hand experience, knowing where to be definite and where to add a caveat, showing who wrote it etc all add more than another 1,000 words of filler.
I’d rather have 400 useful words from someone who knows what they’re talking about than 2,000 words written to hit a word count.

It depends on the topic and search intent. But to be sure not every article needs to be long just to hit the word count.

Yeah, I would definitely concentrate more on meeting the search intent and not the word count. Some articles require up to 2k words while others should only be 500.

A short article can still work well if it answers one clear question. If the topic has related questions, cover those on separate pages and link them together instead of forcing everything into one long post.

imo, long articles aren't always needed. Content should be as detailed as the query requires; if the article fulfils the user's query properly, there's no point stretching it to hit a higher word count.
