Are new generations using facebook?

Facebook is a great market; we currently allocate more than half of our budget to it. However, if the goal is to reach a younger audience, TikTok is also an excellent choice.

Facebook is still pretty active. I still see steady traffic and engagement from pages and groups, especially with the 25 plus audience. Younger people just do not use Facebook as much for casual scrolling anymore

Facebook is definitely still active—especially for businesses, local audiences, and paid advertising. From an agency perspective, I’d focus less on raw user numbers and more on where your target customers actually spend time. For growth, combine Reels + targeted ads + retargeting instead of relying only on organic posts.

Facebook is still very active, just different now. Younger users lean more toward TikTok and Instagram, while Facebook still works well for Groups, Marketplace, and older audiences.

Facebook remains the number one, irreplaceable platform at present. Any inactive accounts are likely due to users simply forgetting about them or other unrelated issues. It would come as no surprise if Facebook maintains its top position for at least the next decade.

TikTok and Instagram definitely attract a younger crowd, but I wouldn’t overlook Facebook. There are still plenty of active communities there, especially for specific interests and hobbies.

That’s right; the number of young people using Facebook is dropping significantly as many switch to TikTok and Instagram. Facebook is trying various strategies to retain users—such as introducing Reels, enabling monetization, and boosting recommendations for short-form content—but the results haven't been very promising so far.

Yeah it’s still very active, just a different crowd now. Younger users lean more toward TikTok and Instagram but Facebook is still huge for groups Marketplace, local businesses, and older audiences

Its true vitality lies in Groups, Marketplace, and local Pages. You should test your products directly with customers before drawing any conclusions.

Based on what I’ve observed, most young people nowadays prefer short-form videos. Platforms like TikTok and YouTube are more popular among younger users than Facebook.

Actually, no it has been completely replaced by Instagram; Zuck saw this coming before anyone else.

I see abondoned account of old people who dont post anything there... it looks like the facebook peak was somewhere in 2013-2017 then it dried out and young generations are on tiktok , instagram... less people go to facebook.... I havent logged into my account since 2022

Is facebook still an active and growing social media?
Facebook is still an active and growing platform, and the younger generation uses it, but for business purposes.

younger people more active on tiktok and instagram while facebook feels more useful for groups and older audiences.but there are still plenty of active communitie there if you find the right one

Younger generations still use Facebook, but their behavior shifted. They stopped posting personal updates on feeds and moved entirely to closed groups, Reels, and Messenger. It is far from dead if you target those spaces

We cannot evaluate the Facebook social network as a whole based solely on individual user profiles; instead, we should examine the groups and large fan pages where users are highly active.
