Hi everyone,
I’ve seen several monetized channels using copyrighted clips with different lengths.
Some are 5 seconds in length, others are up to 35 seconds.
What’s the top limit in seconds for copyrighted clips that we could use in monetized channels without getting a copyright problem ?
Thank you.

its usally 5-13 seconds, however the ubfortunate part is that youtube can still put a copyright claim on the video but you can dispute it and also appeal it showing how your following the "guidelines and policies", for example the part that you add transformational value like commentary and etc., this should remove the copyright claims.

Whether it’s 5, 10, or 30 seconds, it makes no difference—I still don't feel it's safe. Friends of mine have faced copyright claims even when using very short clips. If I do use footage from another source, I only keep the explanatory parts and add my own voiceover and text. Focusing on creating a video that drives conversions is more important than the specific duration you mentioned

a safe number of seconds is actually not applicable. even a couple of seconds of copyrighted work might become grounds for claims to be made. the more important thing would be what exactly one plans to do with the clip, whether he or she has permission for it nd whether this falls under an excepption such as fair use.

There is no fixed seconds limit. Even a few seconds can get claimed depending on the content owner.

There is no set time limit for using a clip. A short clip can still belong to someone else. It is best to use content you have the right to use.

YouTube allows these kinds of videos in Shorts, so you can post copyrighted content in Shorts for up to 60 seconds.

A short clip can still be claimed, so focus on the rights to use the content rather than the number of seconds.

It doesn't depend on the time, but rather on how you integrate and edit the video, and it would be more appropriate to clearly state the source of the video before editing it.
