I've noticed people searching directly on TikTok for things they used to google. anyone actually optimizing videos around search terms and getting better reach from it?

I agree. I don't search on Google like I used to anymore. Especially when I want to find a place to eat or go out, I turn to TikTok 100% of the time.
 
Not only TikTok, but also Instagram and Youtube.
 
Weird. Is that really a thing? people using tiktok instead of google? how does that even work? Its 2 completely different platforms. Tiktok is just bunch of brainrot videos for entertainment.

I understand it seems that way, but TikTok is still not in the category of a search engine. It's a social platform that makes it easy for everyone to search for any content they are looking for.
 
I think so. A lot of people now use TikTok to search for reviews, tutorials, and recommendations instead of just scrolling for entertainment.
 
Yes, the nice thing about search is the video can randomly keep getting views weeks later instead of dying after the initial push.
 
I've also noticed this, people searching up stuff on TikTok like they're on Google. I guess a big part of why someone might prefer TikTok over Google is that when you search for something on TikTok you get instant visuals and audio about whatever you're searching for, instead of just quiet text. Need that dopamine :D
 
SEO on TikTok is not just about hashtags anymore. Using the right keywords in the spoken content, text on the screen, and caption can help your video show up for relevant searches.
 
That's right. TikTok is genuinely more convenient than gg these days. You don't need statistics to figure out why.
 
include related keywords in title and caption, make sure that related words are spoken in the video, and shown as on-screen text too, and then leave everything rest your video content
people can get information conveniently from the tiktok videos rather then searching and reading blogs and ai overviews in google, and it helps a lot in cases where people need to see not read, like food reviews, product unboxing etc

Gen Z uses it literally as an alternative to google for finding foods and reviews. using key terms in captions and verbalizing them during recording for the auto generated captions does actually work for rankings.
 
We’ve been testing search based keywords in captions and on screen text, and it does seem to help when the video matches what people are actually searching. We usually keep the keyword natural instead of stuffing it everywhere, coz that just looks weird. Try tracking which search terms are bringing views to your vids
 
i'd try putting the main search phrase naturally in the spoken content and on screen rather than just stuffing hashtags
 
Absolutely, TikTok has become a search engine for everything. But be aware use TikTok to make money not to be consumer.

especially with ttshop out there and the mini tutorials...make sense. i haven't done the seo yet.
