Old URL Indexed, New Posts Not Indexing After Relaunch

Hey guys,

I had my site live about 2 months ago, then I took it down. I launched it again yesterday with some new articles.

The weird thing is, my old article is still showing in Google, but the new posts are only showing as “Discovered” in Search Console and aren't appearing in Google yet.

Is this normal after relaunching a site? Should I just wait or is there something I should check?

Any advice?

One day is nothing for Google. I wouldn't expect to see every page indexed for a week or so, and probably a month for rankings to settle down.
 
One day after relaunch is really early, especially if GSC says Discovered rather than Crawled. That basically means Google knows those URLs exist but hasn’t fetched them yet
 
One day is way too early to worry just check the sitemap and internal links then give Google a bit of time to crawl the new post
 
Since the site was only relaunched yesterday, I wouldn’t worry yet. If the new posts are showing as “Discovered” in Search Console, Google already knows about them. I’d give it a few days and only start checking technical issues if they still don’t move to crawled/indexed.
 
the old article still being indexed doesnt really tell you whether google is crawling the relaunched site now. it can stay in the index from before you took the site down.

i'd check url inspection/server logs and see if googlebot is actually hitting the new posts. also make sure they're in the sitemap and internally linked from pages google already knows.

after only one day i wouldnt change much yet, but if the new urls still arent even being crawled after a few days then i'd start checking robots, response codes and the relaunch setup itself.
 
Don't even bother to check GSC for a week. Google takes a lot of time to index posts especially if they're suspicious that it's a churn & burn project. You need to wait for a few days and keep publishing new content.
 
Nobody's asked what the site was serving while it was down. If it was 404ing or returning a 503 for two months, Googlebot will have backed right off the crawl rate and it takes a while to come back up even once everything is fine.
 
That can happen after a relaunch especially if the new pages were only published yesterday Discovered means google knows about the URLs but hasn’t necessarily crawled them yet I’d check robots txt canonicals sitemap and internal links request indexing for the important posts then give google some time to recrawl the site
 
Normal, Google cached your old content and it takes time to recrawl and reassess the site after a relaunch. discovered but not indexed just means Google found the URLs but hasn't decided they're worth crawling yet. submit the new URLs through GSC request indexing.
 
Also check the sitemap status in Search Console to see when Google last read it and whether the new URLs are included. If they’re there and crawlable, I’d give it a few days before changing anything else.
 
make sure the new articles links from your homepage or other pages, not just links inside the sidemap.
 
Go to Google Search Console and manually click Request Indexing for each new link.
 
It's normal after a relaunch since the new posts were only published yesterday. If needed you can check the sitemap, internal links, robots.txt, and noindex settings. If everything looks fine, give Google some time to crawl the new pages.
