Sometimes when I search for a domain, the platform says that we can contact broker to help you aquire the domain? Do they also take their own cut in these deals? Any tricks on doing the deal directly with the owner of the domain?

Yes, brokers do take a commission usually around 10–20%. To deal directly, check the domain’s WHOIS info, contact page, or LinkedIn for the owner’s details, and reach out politely. You can also make a safe direct offer through sites like Dan.com or Sedo.

Dan.com does not take own cut?

Yeah, brokers take a cut that’s why they get involved. You can try checking WHOIS or visiting the domain to see if there’s contact info to negotiate directly. Just be polite and realistic with offers. Sometimes owners respond, sometimes they don’t depends on luck and timing.

broker always slices in. u pay markup just for them forwarding emails. just dig into the whois and find the real source behind to cut the fees

Yes — domain brokers usually charge a commission (often 10–20%) for negotiating and securing the domain on your behalf. They can help with privacy and valuation but make the deal costlier. To contact the owner directly, check WHOIS records, use domain marketplaces (like Dan.com or Sedo), or look for contact info on the domain’s landing page. Just be polite, make a fair offer, and use Escrow.com for safe transactions.

Yes, brokers take commission. It is possible to avoid it by finding the owner's contact information in WHOIS or on the domain's website.

it would be my first point to check on the agents commission as the total amount might end up being more than just the cost of buying the name. if one happens to locate the owner of the site, it would be alright to ask whether he or she is interested in selling without the interventtion of an agent. i would just want to ensure that the transaction takes place through a

if who is is private, check the domain is landing page or historical record but use escrow if you contact the owner directly.

In case whois is private, it is possible to look for the domain history or contact the owner through the landing page, but plz do not forget about the payment via escrow.

Private whois does not have to be the end of your adventure although you may think of the landing page and history just don't forget about escrow in case of direct dealings.

absolutely. schema markup + entity siloing is far more effective than a keyword farm approach, especially in view of google's knowledge graph approach to indexing.

the second time the bots did not even have the courtesy to pretend. Do a WHOIS lookup with the registrant email and it never fails.

Yes, most domain brokers take a commission, so direct contact can save money. Try finding the owner through the domain’s contact page, WHOIS details, LinkedIn, or the associated company. If you deal directly, use a trusted escrow service for payment.

to be honest, it is quite frustrating working with commission from broker . I believe it is imprtant to research the history of both the domain nd the landing page but work through escrow.

of course the broker will most likely charge an extra fee in the form of a commission. if i manage to contact the owner using the information from the website or even some other means i would prefer that they be contacted directly. the key point is maintaining the transsaction via the escrow service.
