Are YouTube Thumbnails More Important Than Titles?

Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed that some videos have simple titles but still get strong views because of their thumbnails.
Do you think the thumbnail has a bigger impact on clicks than the video title?
Would love to hear your thoughts.

Exactly, the thumbnail is what first catches the eye and makes people stop scrolling, while the title is the final push that gets them to click; coordinating the two smoothly is what really wins views.

bad lol, The thumb is definitely the visual trigger. Title creates the bait. We need both to work together else CTR is dead on arrival.
 
I look at the thumbnail before reading the title. An impressive thumbnail makes viewers pause, but the title still needs to explain the content or spark curiosity to get them to click. The two elements complement each other, making the content more engaging for viewers

For most people, the title doesn't matter much because the thumbnail gives enough detail about what kind of video it is, but as a viewer, I always see the title first, then the thumbnail.
 
Both are super important, literally equally important. Combine great thumbnail with a great title and you have a winner. But not so great title with good thumbnail works too
 
I don’t think one works without the other. The thumbnail usually gets the first glance, but the title gives people a reason to click. A strong thumbnail with a weak title can still hurt CTR.
 
That’s possible. I also quite like thumbnails that stand out and effectively convey the content through eye catching imagery.
 
You not learn? Look at susccesfull people their youtube image intros and hook follow a strict structure, it' snot that hard.

The first look is the thumbnail. An attractive thumbnail encourages people to click the video. The title is a summary of the video. I think both are important.
 
Thumbnail has a way bigger impact than the title, if your thumbnail is catchy enough, viewers will click them even if the topic isnt something they arent interested in, viewers are impacted mostly from visual appeal. the only problem would be retention, if you can them as intersted as they were while clicking the video, then great.

The thumbnail and title are both very important aspects; they both play an important role in attracting views. Mainly, people watch based on the thumbnail to see whether the content is related to their search results.
 
Most thumbnails are now made using AI; they are worthless and attract less and less attention. It is important to use a thumbnail that encourages clicks, but a good title and description are even more important for ranking in YouTube search results.

both aspects are important, but the thumbnail is more likely to catch people’s attention first. The title plays an important role here as well since it sets up expectations for people to click on the video.
 
I have seen recently the opposite

People with authority or strong personal branding making simple thumbnails

Posting a frame with his face (no stupid face poses, no explosions, no colorful texts,...)
 
A beautiful, polished thumbnail is always a plus that draws viewers in to watch the content. my channel always invests a great deal of effort into its thumbnails.
