Yes, seen this as well. Even normal looking accounts can get flagged quickly if the activity looks too promotional.

Reddit has a bit over 500 million unique weekly active users and more than 100k active communities. This of course didn't happen overnight. We won't forget how they used fake profiles to make their site attractive.
They might not need that kind of traffic right now, even tho it was probably more than welcome at first. Spam might be getting out of control on some subreddits, or they might be trying to increase engagement numbers for their advertisers... The reasons could be multiple, but while you see it from a side that might profit from spamming or "generating traffic", they see it from the perspective of a site used by billions who is self sustainable without the fake traffic.

Reddit has become more careful with posts and rules can be different in each community. It is better to keep your posts related to the topic and follow the rules.

Do you use low karma accounts? If no, then you should publish few comments on that sub then try the post..I just don't understand why, whenever I post a neutral question in the appropriate subbreddit without mentioning brands or using any links - it immediately gets blocked by filters
reddit detects account behaviour quite well now, particularly new accounts. tbh slow growth is better than scaling your posts too quickly.
