It used to be a big deal for musicians. Curious if anyone still keeps a profile there for promotion or if other platforms have completely taken over.

Not for discovery or meaningful audience building anymore. Platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Spotify for Artists have completely taken over independent music promotion. MySpace is mostly legacy digital real estate at this point, so spending time there yields almost zero ROI compared to short-form video platforms.

There’s still some traffic there to be funneled, but obviously not as much as way back. A lot of users have moved on to other socials like TikTok, especially for your niche.

wow, I didn't know that we have a subforum for Myspace in BHW.

For me, I guess there're better places where an artist be shown than Myspace.

TikTok and YouTube outperform it in terms of visibility, however, if you find a small group/niche audience it can be beneficial to you.

I think Myspace is also quite suitable for people working in the arts and creative industries. Building a niche-focused content channel can also be a great way to promote yourself and your work on the platform.

MySpace has near zero real traffic or discovery value for independent artists today. The industry has completely shifted to short-form video platforms.

From my experience, I wouldn’t rely on MySpace as a primary promotion channel anymore. Most of the independent artists we’ve worked with get much more traction from platforms where discovery is still active, like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Spotify. That said, keeping an old MySpace profile around doesn’t hurt if it helps with your online presence or backlinks. I’d just put the majority of the effort where the audience is actually engaging today.

I don't think MySpace holds any real potential anymore, the traffic is crawling. It's only a reference point now. Better platforms have taken over. In my opinion, they should rebrand or something

my space lacks the active numbers to been seen as a promoting platform .
