It's another attempt by Meta to capture the candid, BeReal-style daily sharing loop. Usually, whenever Instagram rolls out or tests a new feature like this, they temporarily boost algorithmic impressions for early adopters to encourage adoption. Worth testing on secondary accounts to see if it triggers an reach spike.

I tried doing it on a secondary account, but it still didn't work.
 
sometimes it depends on your location too, its a very new feature instagram may be rolling out in gradual increments. if your friends have it and you dont, try reinstalling the app. if you have an android you can download an apk of the most recent version and try installing that. also can contact support i know friends who have to do that quite often for various things, its a normal thing.

It's not necessary that this is the reason; to be sure of the reason, check the relevant articles on Instagram or contact them to ask. Usually, you can reach any support team through X(Twitter).

I'm using an iPhone and I'm at a loss; I've tried various methods, but while my friends have managed to get it working, I still can't.
