Honestly, I don't think there's one format that always works on Tumblr. I've seen simple posts do surprisingly well when they fit the audience. I'd probably test a few different types and keep doing more of whatever gets people interacting.

I’m still learning Tumblr, so I haven’t figured out a best format yet. One thing I noticed is that posts with a clear first line are easier for me to notice while scrolling. For example, if the first line makes me curious, I’ll usually stop and read the rest.
