what i can say about this is thst some websites still reject newer TLDs, but it’s usually more about how their systems are configured than the TLD itself.

ICANN put out new Universal Acceptance guidelines this week and it reminded me of this old problem.

Years ago, some websites would reject longer extensions like .photography just because they expected short TLDs like .com.

I actually haven't run into this myself lately. Does anyone here still see it happen?

Long and unfamiliar TLDs are surely rejected. The criteria is that, it should be short, memorable and easy to identify

still happens alot with older forms or banks most modern sites are fine now
Thanks for sharing your experience. It really is annoying when something as simple as typing in a completely legitimate address ends up blocking you from submitting a basic form. (But glad that modern sites are OK now...

I haven’t run into this much recently either, but I think it can still happen with older or poorly maintained systems.

Glad to hear you haven't bumped into it recently either.. I sincerely hope those legacy systems finally get patched up. It gets old having to pull out a backup gmail address just to convince an outdated form to submit.
