Hi guys,

I am confused, I have a account with 25k followers, usually get 10-20k views with some videos over 1-2 millions. But now suddenly, lets say last 15 videos I barely get 1000 views!
I understand my content has changed a bit, and ofc that can have something to do with it, but I still produce high quality content, and in my world I should have better stats.

Is there any way to find out why I get so low engagement? I get spammed by Tiktok wanting me to pay for views, am I in some kind of shadowban?

I think TikTok prompting to buy views happens randomly, it has happened to me, too. Regarding that significant drop in views, try taking a break for 2–3 days without posting anything. Then, come back with content similar to your million-view clips and see how things go.

Check your analytics to see if retention dropped, as that is usually the real culprit behind view drops. If you are facing account issues like this, using try posting from real iPhones has been solid for me and keeps things stable though this is not always the only thing. Content is king

Check Settings > Account > Account Status for any "not eligible for For You" flags, then repost an old winning format to see if the content shift is the real cause.

A few channels I follow have experienced something similar. Their recent videos have been getting significantly fewer views than before. I think their channels may have lost their exposure in the recommendations feed.

A sudden drop like that can happen after a content change. I’d compare retention and watch time on the last 15 videos with the older ones before assuming it’s a shadowban.

however i would not go directly to the conclusion of a shadow ban. with 15 underperforming videos, it is sufficient to see whether there were any changes in the first seconds, complletion rates, time of posting or topics compared to ur previous videos. since u had million view videos before try creating the format of one of them on a new topic.

I also encountered a similar problem and then adjusted my video posting strategy. Use your strategic videos to re-engage your audience, gradually changing your approach so they can adapt to your content.

Tiktok algorithm is changing fast, the content that used to work before doesnt work anymore, it rarely shows your content to people who follow you even though they are actual followers, i would recommend making content that people want to save, share and repost, this is apparently the #1 metric for engagement right now. more of these mean actual human accounts are finding your publications valuable. Also when you do start to get your views back, find out a way to own your audiance through email collections etc. so you can reach them whenever you want thorugh email campaigns.

That make sense, even if I dont want to think about it :D Thanks for the tips!

Thanks, will try!

I wouldn’t assume shadowban straight away, especially if you changed the content a bit. TikTok can be pretty brutal when the new stuff isn’t getting the same watch time or retention as before.

Changing content resets your audience profile in the algorithm. Delete or draft the low-view ones, go back to your original winning hook style, and reply to comments with video responses to re-trigger feed distribution.

I’d check Account Status and analytics first. If there are no violations it’s probably not a shadowban. Changing the content can hurt watch time and TikTok may stop pushing it to the same audience.
