Expired domain city question

I am on the hunt for domains in my city, surrounding city and ect that I can target by keywords. I have exhausted my search on expired domains site and godaddy. I check weekly though. My question is does expired domains list every available platform for domain sellers? Should i be checking other places as well for dropped domains?

Last and probably best question. I know its impossible but for people who have branded their website, is there a way to pull a reference to a city off a expiried sites.

i'd check more than just expired domains and godaddy. there are other auction, drop and backorder sources, and some good domains never sit around long enough to show up where you're looking. for the city reference, i'd check the old site's backlinks, anchor text, about/contact pages and historical snapshots. sometimes the location was mentioned in old content even if the domain itself wasn't city branded.

Do you happen to know of any good places to check?

Yeah sometimes i check expire backlinks of sites i am inspecting the backlinks on. I am only using ubersuggest which has been super buggy of late.
 
id also check dropcatch, drynadot and namejet/snapnames. diffrent platforms get different inventory so just checking godaddy can make you miss quite a few domains.

for local domains id probably keep a list of city + service keywords and check them regularly
 
You can search for city name as the keyword on expireddomains.net to find relevant domains as a lot of sites use "city name + service" pattern.
 
To be absolutely sure, you should check one more place in addition to the two you mentioned. the more thorough your checks, the better.

ExpiredDomains is a good starting point, but I wouldn't rely on it alone. I'd also check NameJet, SnapNames, Dynadot, Sedo, Namecheap, Sav.com and direct registrar/auction feeds. There are also tools that aggregate multiple providers, which can save a lot of time.

Sure enough, testing on multiple drop sites is a good idea because of the low amount of overlap that exists. For local domain names, it seems that sticking to a basic list of cities and services might be the most straightforward approach.
 
Since expired domain lists do not capture all drops, I would suggest checking out major auctions and drop sites as well.

With respect to the location relevance, concentrate on the content and backlink profile of the domain in question and not the forced association with the city.

yes it is reasonable to consider multiple drop sites as there may be variations in inventory. as for the aspect of city, wayback machine nd older backlinks along with content of the page should reveal everything.
 
Yeah, I’d definitely check a few other places too.

Expired domain lists don’t always catch everything, especially dropped or auction domains.

For branded domains, you can still find city relevance by checking old pages, backlinks, anchors and Wayback history.
 
expireddomains doesnt list everything, its pulled from the big drop lists and some auctions. i also check dropcatch and the closeout lists at godaddy. for the city thing i search archive for the old site and look at the contact page, if the address was local you have your reference

much is left out regarding expired domains, imo drop catch and auction as well. as far as city relevancy goes, however, older contact page nd backlink say it all.
