My Facebook account was hacked, and a charge was made to the card linked to it for advertising expenses. What can I do to get a refund?

Contact your bank first, Explain the situation and then contact fb support.

how was it hacked? Any more info? But yeah try to contact their support, best solution

If it's a credit card, you need to contact your bank asap

Please provide additional information and contact your bank to see if the account can be traced and frozen. Please provide complete information where necessary and relevant to your rights.

If meta declines your refund or chargeback request or request takes an extended period of time to respond than contact your credit card issuer or bank immediately. Report then transaction as a fraudulent or unauthorised to initiate a chargeback process.

Thanks for the replies. I recovered my account, but the charges had already been made. Where can I apply to Meta for a refund?

You should contact your bank to close your card and explain the issue regarding the missing transactions, then contact Meta.

I'd first secure the Facebook account and contact Meta Support about the unauthorized ad charge. Also, let your card issuer know about the transaction. Hope you get it resolved quickly.

first change the account password and check for any linked email/recovery changes made by the hacker then file a dispute with the card company directly

since thats often faster than waiting on facebooks response for the actual refund.

I’d secure the account and card first, then report the charges as unauthorized through Meta’s billing/support process. Keep screenshots of the transactions and any emails showing the account was compromised. I’d also contact the card issuer quickly, especially if there are still unknown charges.

this is a pretty tough one. i would file a claim about the advertisement fees being unautthorized via meta billing support nd make sure the account is secured, as well as look for any other ad accounts or payment methods that might be unfamiliar.

Contact Fb support as soon as possible to report that your account has been hacked and disable online payments for your card ideally, lock the card immediately.

I think you have to change your FB password plus turn on 2fa and after that open dispute the charge with your bank as unauthorized and then report meta business support for refund this might be work
