97% of PAA results now AI-generated

In news that will shock no-one, according to AlsoAsked 97% of Google PAA answer responses were AI generated in the first week of September 2026, up from 86% the month before. This is up from 12% from just over a year ago: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7503164423075725313/

I have that beat - 100% of answers on my PAA sites are AI-generated :D

I mean Google has gotten all the information it needs from us(website owners), it no longer needs us. Now, it's time to make money from all the free knowledge it got.

Weeks ago, there was a new story where they claim to have sent 16 billion or so clicks to websites from AI overview(or something like that), what they didn't mention was how much of those traffic are being forced to remain on Google.
 
Yeah the wrong ones dont bother me, its the ones that are actually right. Been going through SERPs all month and when the answer up top is complete theres nothing left for anyone underneath, doesnt matter what position youre in.
 
If the answer is complete right there, just appearing in PAA doesn’t necessarily mean much traffic anymore, yeah..

Big shift , building authority and trusted mentions will matter even more.

;)Well, looks like Google still has 3% catching up to you. You are already running the fully ai powered PAA empire!
 
that is one of the reason i think it’s better to focus on original content rather than relying too much on AI-generated material. Google can use the information from your content in its own results, so adding real experience, unique insights, and something useful that isn’t easily replicated can make a big difference.
