Improving Meta Des, H1s and Focus keywords on local websites! We use to majorly focus on obtaining Great Outreach and offpage SEO but when we optimize the onpage of location and Service pages -- this practice improved old dead websites in difficult niche which were not at all moving with so many niche relevant backlinks!

Internal linking can be surprisingly powerful. Sometimes a few good links from strong pages move rankings more than adding new backlinks.

100%. There have been times when well placed internal links from high quality pages have made a page climb up faster than chasing for external links.
The importance of anchor text cannot be overlooked, keep it relevant.

For me proper internal linking is one of the experiments/techniques that can make you rank much higher without tampering with the content of your posts/website.

for me, it was improving internal linking on older pages. I never expected such a simple modification to have such an impact on ranking, especially when compared to the effort that goes into creating new link.

Most people assume that a greater number of pages automatically translates to more traffic. In reality, removing underperforming content forces Google to focus on your most topically relevant material.
I deleted a lot of outdated thin content pages thinking that traffic would drops but instead, it gets much better rankings throughout the website. It seems that google hates bloating better way more than we imagine.

surprise that I got include editing existing articles instead of writing new ones as a result of making a few change to the search intent and internal link which will make them rank faster.
I have also observed its effectiveness even when trimming down thin pages. the traffic was supposed to go down, but the gud page began getting more impression nd rankings.
Renamed 50 images file names to include exact LSI keywords in a state of exhaustionn at 3am and thought i would messed up the alt tags, but the rankings soared from that day onwards. It makes sense may be right?

Another one that always takes me by surprise is internal linking.
Sometimes, it’s better to optimize internal linking within existing pages rather than creating new content and/or backlinks in order to achieve higher rankings.
It helps me remember that SEO is often about optimizing the distribution of existing authority rather than generating new one.

updated the publish date on an old post without even changin the content much and traffic spiked within days,
felt too easy compared to actual content improvements that barely moved anything before that.

Making bulk city pages for local SEO.
There was a tym when I got a page jump due to the change in the content angle and not bcz of keyword or link optimization basically, it improved the search for the answer to the query.
