Look at relevance, real organic traffic, the site’s content quality, and whether the link makes sense naturally.
DR/DA can help filter options, but I wouldn’t use them as the main deciding factor.

Disregard the metrics and instead prioritize genuine organic traffic and strict topical relevance. A site that attracts consistent visitors, combined with a link that fits naturally within the main text, constitutes an excellent placement. Simply ensure the site isn't linking out to spam.

For me, the biggest thing is whether the link actually makes sense on the page. I check relevance, real traffic, the quality of existing content and outbound links. A strong DR means very little if the site looks like it exists only to sell backlinks.

i check if the page actually ranks for something and gets real search traffic, not just the domain's overall metrics, a page with zero traffic despite a high DR domain usually isn't worth much regardless of what ahrefs says
