I have an ad account that has spent over $50,000 in the past two months. The account's daily spending limit is usually $8,000, but yesterday it suddenly dropped to $50, preventing the campaigns from spending any more. Does anyone know why? Is Facebook trying to stop advertisers from spending large amounts?

It is rare for an account with a spending history to have its spending limit lowered—especially to $50 a day. It might be an accidental restriction. Try contacting a support agent.

What's going on? I haven't encountered a situation with such a large budget cut. Did you take any unusual actions?

this is my first time i will be hearing this, try contacting support because an account with this spending history shouldn't have this problem at all

Budget cuts typically occur after your account experiences an error and a payment fails or your payment card is rejected. You should check your account information and try making one or two more payments for campaigns to see if your budget is restored.

i dont think meta is trying to stop you from spending tbh, that wouldnt make much sense after already letting the account spend 50k+

going from 8k to $50 suddenly feels more like some automated risk/billing flag or just a backend issue. especially if nothing changed on the campaigns

id be more interested in what happened on the account right before the limit dropped
