How Do You Handle People Reselling Your E-books On Marketplaces?

Recently, I got an email from someone that my ebook was listed on a specific marketplace and he runs a project whose job is to take down such. He provided the link to the listing, but it had already been removed before I checked it.

A week or so later, I checked the site again and did some searches, only to see that my e-book is listed for sale at a price that's even higher than what I was selling it. The e-book is primarily only sold on BHW.

Contacted support of the site and the listing was removed.


This is the second time I'm having this issue, the last was on a previous e-book I sold on the forum. I think the member doing that was later banned because he scammed members on the forum.


So to the title of this thread, if you were in my shoes, what would you?

Is this a problem that even has a solution?

Have the same issue currently. I stopped fighting it. It's part of the game.

Unfortunately, in the space we’re in, it is inevitable.

There are forums whose sole purpose is to acquire e-books and methods and redistribute them, either for free or for a fee.

It’s like playing whack-a-mole. You take one listing down, and several others spring up elsewhere.

Every launch has a shelf life. The goal is to make the most of it before the content potentially leaks and begins circulating beyond your control.

Alternatively, you can hire people like the guy who contacted you to monitor these marketplaces and submit takedown requests, or you can do it yourself. If you have a high-value product, it might be worth the hassle. If not, the time and effort involved may not be worth it.

you cant stop it to be honest you can only try but if you have a way to reach those that purchase your book by making them aware of how much you sell it and the official site to get it, i guess with that it will reduce those that do that stuff because life is always about transactions

In essence it's a problem without a solution.
