Best countries for digital nomads in 2026: tax, internet, cost of living

I’m thinking about moving abroad as a digital nomad as I have done in the past and wondering which countries are actually worth it in 2026 for tax, internet, and cost of living. In Asia if possible.

first thing first it's really depends on where you currently are

may i know which part of specific Asia you need suggesion on? so i’ll try to suggest better

I'm considering Asia due it's low living cost compare to Europe. don't have specific region in mind really. so i wanted to have some real time experience from expats there.

I would recommend these two countries Indonesia or Thailand for

Internet
Food
Cost of living
Transportation
Best nature and environment always
Easy to obtain citizenship

Bali don't have tax on personal income
Thailand have 5% tax slab on income

If you just focusing on tax then got for gulf or carabian country are best but other things are fit in your criteria especially citizenship which you don't get,
You can't get an affordable life in these countries
because one hand they asking no tax on other hand for like internet, house, food, and transactions, expenses like hell.

I would say Dominican Republic or Mexico. American news really brainwashes people from traveling to these countries. I've met some beautiful genuine people here. as long as you mind your business stay away from drug business. The cost of living is very cheap food etc great place to live.

Dominican or Mexico never affordable in any sense

Since the donation progrm it's become famous only for citizenship that's it

Infact all carabian countries you can get passport but not good life or you can't live there at all

And hell nah Mexico never affordable in any manners

Well Philippines exchange rate is absolutely INCREDIBLE right now almost 63 PHP for Every USD you earn online. The cuisine not Thailand but will be trade offs for every scenario. Internet definitely usable but this time of year you can experience manageable rolling "brownouts". an hour or 2 of no electricity but your internet and charged battery will keep you in the game.

You will hear about disasters....everything..except for Godzilla...that would be in Japan. :)
Lot of other nuances you should know about. Some you can get on expat locations but they can be a bitter bunch of drunks and pessimists sometimes....they could learn the internet and earn but seldom do. *Always exceptions.

Nah mate, people should never move to the philippines because of their lack of economic development, even though their resources are unmatched.

In fact, Filipinos leave their own country just because they lack facilities or opportunities.

Keyword "Move"...I agree on that. I would not recommend perm move. USA...is not a happy place for all right now either.

USA is not cheaper place to live though nor its tax free

Moving decision is a big decision and when someone thinking about it means they are thinking about moving perm not temp so it has to be a good decision by considering all the factors.
