Do you write around keywords or topics first?

I ask my writer to write on given topic and just include keywords which I give him.

I prefer starting with the topic and search intent first, then choosing the main keywords naturally. This helps me create useful content without forcing keywords into every section or making the article sound unnatural.
 
I will identify the topic first, then expand on it with relevant keywords to avoid going off track.

the best approach for me has been to begin with the problem i wish to solve with my article nd conduct my keyword research around it. this prevents me from coming up with an article just based on the presence of a particullar keyword in the search engines. once the general theme is established finding related keywords becomes easy.

I always begin with my topic and then look for keywords based on that. It seems like a better approaches and you would not have to fit in unnecessary keywords in your articles.
 
My blog focuses on creating content around a carefully planned list of keywords. The goal is to write content that people are actually searching for and need, rather than spreading the blog across random and unfocused topics.
 
I usually start with the topic and search intent first, then work the keywords into it naturally. It makes the content feel less forced.
 
Topic, readers will immediately understand the content you want to convey without having to read the entire blog post.

Yeah, that’s basically how I would go about doing it as well. For local SEO, keep it centered on the service + location; for bigger sites, center it around the main topic + related keywords.

I think both can work, but you will probably get different results. With fewer posts, you have more time to research, add examples, and make each one better. With more posts, you can cover more topics, but keeping them all updated later can be a lot of work.
 
understanding topic and what people are actually searching for. then build content around the main keyword and related terms this usually makes the article feel more natural and complete.

Topics first of all before anything else in my opinion. If you focus too much on using key words only then you are bounds to end up with trash.
