It depends how hard your niche is (competition) and how much of these pillar pages your competitors have. One pillar page for the main topic. then articles on q/a topics related to main topic. I show google that my website has every topic covered related to the main topic.
Check your competitors what if 10 of them have more pillar pages then you and more spokes articles- then what?I usually pick one main topic and then write 20 or 30 smaller posts that answer every specific question someone might have about it.
The key is linking all those smaller posts back to one big pillar page to show google you’ve covered the entire subject, it's way better than just guessing which random keywords might rank.
My thoughts are now;cluster, mayhem....damn I watch to much of that xxx shit........To build topical authority on new sites, I start with a core pillar page and support it with tightly related cluster articles. I focus on internal linking, covering subtopics deeply, and regularly updating content to signal relevance and expertise clearly.
in this case I woould suggest u to pick one big main topic and write a long pillar page that explains everything about it in general.I’ve been trying to structure content around clusters instead of random keywords. For those doing this actively, how are you planning your content to build strong topical authority from scratch?
Which tool you used for create topical clusters? Is it free or cheap monthly? Writing single prompt after prompt AI for spoke articles to create 6 pillar pages (topics) is a pain in the ass workflow. Solution? How do you guys doing it?Recently tried an automation tool for topical map creation with content brief. Really satisfying output.

Happy 1st May to you all !
my primary focus is on getting the topic right rather than posting multiple articles in quick succession. after analyzing the common questions, search queries nd gaps in the existing content on the competition’s websites i would generate a simple content map. with each articlle being published i would link it to all the relevant pages.I’ve been trying to structure content around clusters instead of random keywords.
