Yess, there certainly appears to be an issue with messenger either temporarily or locally. If your facebook page is working fine, you might want to wait a bit and check the app/broswer again.

Yeah Im seeing similar reports. If Downdetector is showing a spike its probably a temporary Messenger outage rather than an issue with your PC

yeah messenger on pc has been pretty buggy lately, hopefully they get it fixed soon.
