How far are we from saturation in youtube long form content?

I am seeing that all new creators are struggling with long form content. 1 out of thousands is able to gain some traction. Are we very near to completely saturated YouTube where it will be impossible to grow with long form content?

At a time when short videos are becoming increasingly popular, I find myself wondering what the future holds for the long video market.
 
Attention span is cooked. It's been more than a year, I must've watched only a couple of long form videos.
 
There is no such thing as saturation on youtube, from where did you get the data of 1 out of 1000?

People are literally posting sleeping videos and getting thousands of views. Its like the best time to start your journey on youtube.
 
Hey, I don't think long form content is fully saturated yet. It may be harder to stand out, but unique ideas, better storytelling, and consistency can still make a difference.
 
I don’t think long-form is saturated, just much more competitive. New channels still grow, but topic choice, thumbnail, hook, and retention matter more than ever.

Hey. I don’t think it’s impossible to grow, but it’s definitely harder now. There’s a lot more competition, so you really need to know what your audience wants and get the basics right, SEO, titles, thumbnails and retention. New channels can still break through, it just takes a smarter approach
 
People have been saying YouTube is saturated since 2015. Topics might be crowded, but quality, good pacing, and clickable packaging (title/thumbnail) will still outperform 95% of channels in any niche
 
I don't think long form You tube is completely saturated but the growth easily definitely over. Now a days a good content is not enough as well need good thumbnail , topic, title everything is very important.

long form is not quite saturated at this point. more people have joined in but the vast majority still have difficulty with picking the correct topic nd keeping people hooked until the end. as long as they provide something usefful or interesting then theres still room for expansion. the tricky part nowadays is to stand out.

Long form content is definitely more competitive but I don't think it's so saturated nowadays...
 
I dont think long form is impossible to grow with, its just way more competitive now so the content really needs a strong idea, good packaging and solid retention to stand out.
 
I feel like that space has long been saturated,nowadays, the audience mostly prefers short form videos they want things quick and the chances of success with long form videos are very low.
 
In my opinion, long-form videos remain quite effective if they successfully tap into the interests of the target audience. Therefore, the choice of content and approach is well worth pursuing—provided you have strong ideas and the necessary capabilities.
 
I don’t think long-form YouTube ist saturated at all. If anything it is all the faceless long-form stuff that feels saturated where you don’t really build any connection with the creator.
 
2026 the short video market is capturing a massive volume of traffic. People love scrolling through quick clips a trend likely driven by the habit of using TikTok.
 
I don’t think long-form is saturated to the point of being impossible. The bigger issue is that generic content is much harder to break through now. specific niche, strong packaging, and good retention still matter a lot.
 
Long form isn't dead, the bar is just higher now. Shorts get fast views, but long videos build real communities and make actual money. You just can't get away with half-assed content anymore.
 
Long form is out of your business
You will never have all the money top Youtubers have to invest in creating videos
There is no original content because there is not place for little creators
If the topic has high competency your videos will never be suggested.because you don't have as many money for promotion as big fishes have
If the topic is not saturated and it's a hit, big fishes have the team and money to create a video about this topic and bury your video in the searches and YT homepage

Don't waste your money and time in long videos unless you create compilation of shorts as long videos
Anything thar requires more time and effort that put some shorts in a line and render is not worth
 
I think while some niches are indeed extremely crowded, claiming that YouTube as a whole is saturated is a bit of an exaggeration. If you enter a major niche and simply replicate what hundreds of other channels are already doing, success will naturally be difficult. There is still room for growth, but average content faces a much tougher landscape than it did a few years ago. Channels need to innovate and improve the quality of their content and perspectives; simply repeating the same old formulas is unlikely to yield good results
