to me, the initial few seconds were the most important part that made a difference for me. the key is to make sure that the introduction immediatelly captures the viewers attention nd offers a reason for him to keep watching the video. it was also important to focus on the title nd thumbnail as well.

What’s one strategy you’ve tried that actually made a noticeable difference in your views or engagement? Could be anything, thumbnails, titles, Shorts, SEO, posting schedule, retention, or even something random that you didn’t expect to work.
Would be interesting to hear what’s actually working for people right now.
 
posting regularly and quality content. But quality content is not the only key because it has to follow trends, shorts can be good to bring extra engagement but don't just make shorts
 
I think improving retention made the biggest difference for me. Focusing on a strong hook keeping the video moving and delivering value without unnecessary filler seems to help viewers stay longer and engage more naturally.
 
the biggest improvement came from testing different hooks instead of changing the whole video for me.
a stronger opening improved retention noticeably, and that eventually translated into more views. I’d test the first 30 seconds before spending too much time on seo.
 
Testing different video openings can help improve viewer engagement. Small changes to the opening can make a noticeable difference.

I wanted to test the single image 5 sec loop no motion, no music, no nothing but image strategy. Youtube still adds it to the shorts category.

I already love eye candy images and metaphors anyway and uploaded this attached. It got 28,000 Retention on 15 views :).

But what I forgot was to put an open ended hook in the Title...engagement is the key. And pinned comment. If you can get the engagement Youtube will love it.
 
I havent really gotten any improvement like that i tend to focus on more task that are kind of giving me recurring revenue but i will go back to it soon

Check, Check, Check, Check and Check. I would only add...make ad revenue the cherry on top....monetize on day one in that Video Description. I used to crack up watching Alex Hormozi canned speech before every video..."I have nothing to sell you" with a link to Amazon for his book in the description. :)
 
Improving thumbnails and titles made a noticeable difference. Even good content can struggle if people don’t feel interested enough to click, so I test different angles and focus on what attracts the right audience.

To the best of my knowledge, improving the thumbnail made the biggest difference. I started focusing more on curiosity and making the value obvious at a glance. Even with the same type of content, better thumbnails noticeably improved CTR and views.
 
I followed some advice to focus on the thumbnail and create a title that sparks curiosity. this improved the view count for videos shorter than 30 minutes.
 
One strategy I’ve found useful is turning successful videos into a series instead of treating every upload as a completely new idea. If one topic performs well, I create related videos around it and link them together to keep viewers watching
 
Better topic selection, stronger thumbnails, and a good first 30 seconds. If people click and keep watching, YouTube usually gives the video more chances.
 
Honestly, improving the thumbnail and title made a bigger difference for me than just uploading more often. Getting people to click is one thing, keeping them watching is another.
