What should I look for when choosing a proxy provider?

I am new to proxies and want to learn more about them. What should I look for when choosing a proxy provider? What are the main things I should check before I buy? Thanks for any advice.

Price and pool size are the easy numbers to compare, but they don’t tell you much on their own. First figure out what you actually need — one stable IP or a pool, which locations, HTTP/SOCKS support, and roughly how much traffic or concurrency you’ll run

Before committing to a bigger plan, test a small package on the actual tasks you need it for and watch success rate and latency consistency, not just advertised uptime. Also check bandwidth/concurrency limits, authentication options and the IP replacement policy. A cheap plan gets expensive pretty fast if a lot of requests need retries

Since there's a lot of different kinds of proxies, the first consideration should usually be what you need it for. Past that, it's gonna be IP quality and reputation, then location, service reliability, connection speed, shared or dedicated, then optional stuff like rotation, APIs, etc.
A lot also comes down to the proxy provider, if the service is fast and convenient for you. Having a competent support to help you out after sales is also a wonderful bonus to have access to. That's about the broad strokes of it.

look for reviews / prompt replys and stick with established sellers

I'd focus on Ip quality, speed, stability and location. If possible, always test the proxies first with a free trial .

Check if the IPs stay clean on the sites you care about and if they cover the countries you need. From personal experience can advice FloppyData, it's a good one to test with a small plan, then run it through checkers like IPhey or Greenchecker to catch any leaks before you buy more.

Check reputation, IP quality, location coverage, speed, uptime, authentication options, refund policy and whether the provider allows your intended use.
