Hey BHW,

Starting a journey thread here to keep myself accountable and to log something I've been doing on the side for the last few days.

What this is

I'm trading tokens on FOMO (fomo.family) — a social trading platform where your whole portfolio is public. Every position, every buy, every sell, every % gain and loss sits on your profile for anyone to look at. Nothing hidden, no screenshots I can crop, no "trust me bro" P&L.

That's exactly why I picked it for a journey. I can't fake this even if I wanted to. My profile is public and anyone following this thread can check my numbers against what I post here.

Why I'm doing this

I've been running online projects for a while — automation tools, scrapers, digital products, content sites. All of that is slow, compounding, boring-in-a-good-way work. This is the opposite: fast, volatile, and mostly driven by attention rather than fundamentals.

I want to find out, with real money and a public log, whether I can be consistently profitable at it or whether I'm just another guy who caught a couple of green candles and mistook it for skill. My honest expectation is somewhere in the middle. We'll see.

Starting position

I've made 8 trades so far, all buys, nothing closed yet. Here's where I stand as of today:

Portfolio value: $2,804.52Cash sitting idle: $342.80Deployed into positions: ~$1,64524h change: +$42.07

Open positions (7):

TokenEntry sizeCurrent valueP&L
Basecat$796.18 @ $29.3M MC$1,725.23+116.69%
STONKBROKER$498.14 @ $49.8M MC$373.66−24.65%
sushicat$262.95 @ $275K MC$305.66+16.24%
MarsCoin$29.84 @ $181.5M MC$39.51+32.99%
CINEMA$49.28 @ $3.1M MC$10.78−78.03%
Tom$4.96 @ $23.2K MC$4.88−1.18%
LEGS$4.46 @ $2M MC$2.00−55.08%

So: one position carrying the whole book, one down 78%, and a few small tickets I put in to test entries at different market caps.

What I'm actually testing

A few things I want to answer over the next weeks, with data instead of vibes:

  1. Does entry market cap predict anything for me? My positions range from $23K MC to $181M MC. I want to see where my hit rate actually lives.
  2. Position sizing. Right now my sizing is inconsistent — $796 in one, $4.46 in another. That's not a strategy, that's mood. I want to move to fixed sizing and see if my results get better or just flatter.
  3. Exit discipline. This is my real weakness. I have zero closed trades. Basecat is up 116% and I haven't taken a cent off the table. That's the thing I most need to fix, and it's the thing I'll be hardest on myself about in these updates.
  4. Does following good traders help? FOMO shows you what other people hold. I want to test whether copying entries from consistently profitable accounts beats picking myself.

The rules I'm giving myself

  • No adding more money to the account. Whatever I have is what I have. If I blow it up, the journey ends with the honest number at the bottom.
  • Every trade gets logged here, including the ones that make me look stupid.
  • No hindsight editing. If I say I'm buying something and it dumps, that post stays.
  • I post the loss days with the same detail as the green days. A journey where every update is a win is a sales pitch, not a journey.

Posting schedule

One update per day. Every update will have:

  • Portfolio value + 24h change
  • Any positions opened or closed and why
  • Current open positions with P&L
  • What I got wrong and what I'd do differently

If I miss a day I'll say why rather than quietly skip it.

What I'm not doing

I'm not selling anything, I'm not going to DM anyone signals, and nothing in this thread is financial advice. I'm not qualified to give any and I'd be suspicious of anyone on a marketing forum who claims otherwise. This is a public log of one guy's money in a very volatile market , treat it as entertainment and as a case study, not as a reason to buy anything.

Also worth saying plainly: memecoins are close to a coin flip with extra steps. Most people lose. I might be one of them. That outcome gets posted here too.

Feedback welcome

If you trade this stuff and you think my sizing is dumb or my entries are late, say so. I'd rather get roasted in this thread and fix it than find out from the P&L in three weeks.

First daily update goes up tomorrow.

Been a while I saw a nice crypto journey. Wish you success on this one.

Question: why fomo family ? I see lots of KOLs promoting it, while others say that axiom, gmgn etc. are better ? I'm confused, because I see lots of controversial figures promoting it so wanted to hear your opinion about it.

thanks eerdeshi and HenryObi, appreciate it

Moonslice fair question. honestly i didn't pick fomo because i think it beats axiom or gmgn on execution. if i was optimizing purely for fills and fees i probably wouldn't be here.

i picked it because the profile is public. every position and every buy sits on the page for anyone to check, which is the whole point of running this as a journey. i can't quietly delete a bad trade and post a screenshot of the good one.

and yeah i noticed the kol thing too. i'd rather judge it on whether my orders actually fill and whether my numbers stay public than on who is promoting it. if it turns out to be bad for execution i'll say so in this thread.

update 1

thread is 2 days old and i didn't post yesterday, my fault. keeping these daily from here.

portfolio is at $2,142.08 right now. it was $2,804.52 when i posted the OP so thats about -$662 over the two days. fomo shows -$729.68 on the 24h so most of the damage is recent.

cash is at $0. fully deployed, which i don't love.

opened 2 new positions since the OP
ROBINCAT $187.01 at $12.1M mc, currently -21.93%
CASHCAT $149.18 at $273.2M mc, currently -20.30%

closed nothing. still zero sells on the account so none of this is realized. every number above is open positions moving, not money actually lost yet.

the one that actually matters is basecat. it was +116.69% in the OP and its +61.92% now. still my best position but thats around $436 of paper profit i gave back by not taking anything off. i called exit discipline my main weakness two days ago and then did nothing about it, so thats on me.

worst right now is LEGS at -83.85% but its a $0.72 position so it doesn't really matter.

changing two things. taking some basecat off on the next decent bounce instead of waiting for a number in my head. and no more entries until i have cash again, going in with $0 spare was dumb.

Thanks for your answer! Good luck! I'm currently still researching and gathering all the useful info to gain some edge on memecoins to confirm my bias. But so far I am surprised how many vibecoded sites there are for tracking wallets etc. It's not a bad community at all if you can filter out the BS and learn / track people who won't dump on you.

yeah i noticed the same thing. half of them look like the same tool with a different logo on it.

i dont use any of those for this journey though. im just posting my own positions here and the profile is public so anyone can check the numbers against what i write. filtering the noise is basically the whole job like you said. good luck with the research

update 2

portfolio is $2,116.94. thats -$25.14 since update 1 ($2,142.08). fomo shows -$155.94 on its own 24h counter but thats a different window than my last post.

that -$25 flatters it. i put around $308 of fresh cash in and spent $298.92 of it, so the positions themselves are down roughly $333 since yesterday. the balance only held up because i fed it.

adds since update 1: cashcat +$149.41 and +$99.52, robincat +$49.99. nothing opened new, nothing closed, still zero sells on the account so none of this is realized either way.

best is still basecat at +37.19% ($1,092.25). it was +61.92% yesterday and +116.69% in the OP. second day in a row i said i would trim it and didnt.

worst is legs at -95.25% but thats 21 cents. of the ones that matter cinema is -80.48% and robincat is -57.37%, $237 in and $100.58 left.

so i broke my own rule about an hour after posting it. said no new entries until i had cash, then topped up and averaged into two positions that were already red. cashcat is $398 in now at -14.43%. adding to losers is the actual problem here, not the entries.

tomorrow im trimming basecat and adding nothing.

Hey, best of luck! Looking forward to seeing your updates.

Hey, best of luck! Looking forward to seeing your updates.
thanks mate. new update is below, its a red one today.
Good luck with your journey. Following this thread
appreciate it. fair warning, so far this thread is mostly me being wrong in public.
update 3
missed two days of updates, thats on me. back to daily.
portfolio is $1,665.36. thats -$451.58 since update 2 ($2,116.94). fomo shows -$129.90 on its own 24h counter but thats a shorter window than my last post so dont compare the two.
cash is $0. only trade since update 2 was $9.28 into zdog and thats already -64.04%. no sells at all on the account still, so nothing here is realized.
basecat is basically the whole drop. it was +37.19% and $1,092.25 at update 2, its -15.65% and $671.61 now. thats -$420.64 of the -$451.58. it was +116.69% in the OP. i said i would trim it three updates in a row and never did, so my best position is a losing one now.
of the ones that matter cinema is -93.75% ($49.28 in, $3.07 left) and robincat -62.24%. legs is -98.78% but thats 5 cents.
best is tom at +2.78% and thats a $5 position. nothing meaningful is green anymore.
said i would add nothing and trim basecat, then bought zdog instead. im done writing rules i dont follow. basecat gets trimmed this week whatever it does, and no new tokens until it is.

interesting journey. I always had total burn out fr crypto trading. I'm following this. good luck and post updates.

How you finding meme or what confirmation you buying them?
honest answer, i dont have a confirmation checklist. thats part of what this thread keeps exposing. im picking off fomos own feed and what other traders on there are holding, and i entered at deliberately different market caps, from about $23k up to $181m, to see where my hit rate actually sits. so far the answer is nowhere, every position i hold is red. i dont use wallet trackers or copy tools either. so dont read anything im doing as a method, im 4 updates in with nothing green.
interesting journey. I always had total burn out fr crypto trading. I'm following this. good luck and post updates.
appreciate it. burnout is real, thats mostly why i keep this to one post a day instead of sitting on charts all day. update is below and its not a pretty one.
update 4
missed 3 days. said back to daily last time and then didnt do it, thats on me.
portfolio is $2,314.07. that looks like +$648.71 since update 3 ($1,665.36) but its not a gain, i put more money in. cash went from $0 to $304.84 while i spent $698.95 on buys and only $4.95 came out of a position, so roughly $999 of new cash went into the account. fomo doesnt show me a deposit line so thats worked out from the cash math, but the numbers only add up that way. strip it out and the book is actually down about $350 since update 3. fomos own 24h counter says -$111.48, thats a shorter window than my last post so dont compare the two.
first sell on the account finally happened. tom, out at $4.95, entry was $4.96. so my first ever closed trade is flat on a $5 position.
bought since update 3: basecat $299.73, cashcat $299.69, marscoin $99.53. no new tokens at least.
positions now: basecat $827.35 -24.41%, cashcat $603.52 -13.13%, stonkbroker $224.22 -54.79%, sushicat $183.21 -30.32%, marscoin $110.15 -14.48%, robincat $57.21 -75.76%, cinema $2.05 -95.82%, zdog $1.41 -84.72%, legs $0.12 -97.39%
nothing is green. best is cashcat at -13.13%, worst that counts is robincat at -75.76%.
last update i said basecat gets trimmed this week whatever it does. instead i added $299.73 to it and it went from -15.65% to -24.41%. the OP rule was also no new money into the account and thats twice ive broken that now. the picking isnt the main problem, the not selling and the topping up is. basecat gets trimmed before update 5.

do you have some kind of confirmation that they will peak up again? why more adding?

do you have some kind of confirmation that they will peak up again? why more adding?
no confirmation, none. thats the honest answer. i added to basecat because it was my biggest bag and it was already down, nothing more than that. its averaging down on a memecoin with no reason behind it and its the worst thing ive done in this thread. it was -24.41% when i added, its -38.76% now. so dont read the adding as a signal, its the mistake.
update 5
no trades at all since update 4. no buys, no sells, nothing i did. everything below is just price moving.
portfolio is $2,087.14, thats -$226.93 since update 4 ($2,314.07). cash is still $304.84 and i put no new money in this time, so the whole drop is the positions.
fomos own 24h counter says -$185.84, thats a different window than since my last post so dont mix the two.
positions: basecat $670.35 -38.76%, cashcat $580.83 -16.40%, stonkbroker $240.14 -51.58%, sushicat $130.89 -50.22%, marscoin $111.40 -13.51%, robincat $45.05 -80.91%, cinema $2.22 -95.49%, zdog $1.33 -85.58%, legs $0.11 -97.59%
biggest dollar drop since update 4 is basecat at -$157. sushicat moved the most in percent, -30.32% to -50.22%. only three went up at all, stonkbroker +$15.92, marscoin +$1.25, cinema +$0.17, and all three are still deep red overall.
best position is marscoin at -13.51%, worst is legs at -97.59%. still nothing green, 5 updates in, and still only one closed trade ever which was tom flat at $4.95.
i said basecat gets trimmed before update 5 and i didnt do it. thats twice now ive said id trim it and then sat there. holding it from -24% down to -38% is the real problem in this thread, not the picking.

Usually I don't invest money or trade memcoins since i know that the affiliate who got cash

I like this rules because will protect you from coin-circle and bein stressed all the day
