Something I've noticed in SEO communities is that people often report "I built 1,000 links" without knowing how many were actually discovered or indexed.
That number doesn't tell me much.
I'd rather know:
That changed how I evaluate link-building campaigns.
Some sources look impressive in volume but have terrible indexation.
Others produce fewer links but have much better retention.
I'm curious how everyone else tracks this.
Do you maintain an actual indexing sheet for campaigns, or do you mainly judge everything by rankings and Search Console data?
That number doesn't tell me much.
I'd rather know:
- How many URLs were created?
- How many were crawled?
- How many were indexed?
- How many remained indexed after 30 days?
- Did any ranking movement happen afterward?
