I would say 6 to 8 weeks to starts seeing some actual results when it comes to traffic but it was in consistent in the beginning until some pages started gaining traction on their own.
A well optimized site can get consistent traffic at around 4 to 6 months.
I have seen, 3-4 months after doing on page and content and backlinks and doing regular blog posting will help you get traffic.., dont forget to share in social media sites and do reddit and medium too
in my case my followers did not increase consistently either. i had virtually none then suddenly some posts were getting hits every day and slowly but surely that snow balled.
My first real take off happened only when I gets enough related content in my blog for that topic. until then it was all jsst scattered thoughts now and then with the traffic growing steadily.
In my experience, the first movement could take 2 to 3 months, while steady traffic would take more time. The niche, competition, indexing, and strength of the website at the start play a huge role here.
Generally, I would give a new website anywhere from 3 to 6 months to determine the trend. There are certain categories that change faster than others; however, steady growth is achieved once sufficient indexing takes place.
IMO one should not assess a blog by its first two months bcz mine seemed to be virtually invisible during that time nd then suddenly a few pieces of writing began to generate traffic which kept compounding slowly over time. i would concentrate on generating useful material regularly nd working on pages that have traffic allready.
