I just got one of those doorbell things, and I need one for the rest of the house, but I can't find any without issues. We have dead spots in the house's coverage, but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions, since Amazon looks like trash.

I had good luck with TP-Link WiFi extenders. I had a couple of dead spots at home and it fixed the coverage pretty well..

I wouldn't recommend a Wifi Extender. I used to use those until a few years ago until I discovered Wifi Mesh systems.

I don't mean to overwhelm you, but Wifi Mesh systems are exactly what you're looking and they're pretty much plug and play.

Traditional extenders create a second Wifi network, so something like Main_EXT - in doing so they basically cut your internet speed in half.

Mesh systems are individual systems - that replace your router. So you buy for instance a pack of three or four depending on your requirements/home layout.

Your ISP cable goes into any one of the nodes, then you place the second node halfway between the first node and your deadzone, you keep repeating it. All of the nodes (devices) are identical, so it doesn't matter which one you plug into your ISP cable and which you use to enhance the mesh

The end result is you get one common network across the house and absolutely no reconnections. It's all seamless and there's barely any compromise or extra latency.

Google has the Nest Range. Amazon has the Eero range. They're all Mesh Wifi systems.

I use the TP Link Deco X50 - cost me like $180 for a pack of three

I use this: Sistem Mesh Wi-Fi TP-Link Deco S7(3-pack), AC1900, Dual-Band, 3x3 MU-MIMO. Highly recommend!

Yeah.. My choice be same as tp-link mesh wifi system. they’ve got quite few variants, so it really depends on how much coverage you need. I’m using deco d7 series, which covers me around 7,600 sq ft, and I’ve been using it for a year now. so far, no issue on devices or software updates, and the coverage be pretty solid.
