imo, no need to start off with a website right from the very beginning. Instead of this please try publishing on some thing vry basic, finds out what works and only then build up your own website.

You can start on free platforms but having your own website gives you more control in the long run begin with a clear niche publish genuinely useful content and focus on consistency rather than trying to monetize too quickly.
start small nd regard the first few months more like a learning period than a time to get traffic nd make money. select one subject matter nd focus it on the interests of one reader nd just keep publishing consistentlly. Website is necessary when u plan to create a valuable asset for urself but what is more important is to learn from others.

You should start with keyword research. If you can find keywords which are in demand and are targetted by less bloggers, your work will become easier from day 1.
having a website earlier depends upon either you want to build a blog for your long term goal to get google traffic to make money than I suggest that having a website is better for you fairly early. The second thing is that choosing a niche it is the first and main point of starting blog so select a niche carefully so you can write about it for long term. Don't just use Ai for article writing use your own skills to make it realistic. When you write your first article then publish it 1 or 2 articles are enough per week at the beginning. Publish consistently and never compromise on quality. It takes few time to get organic traffic. Build relevant backlinks for collaboration. Track every thing and try to make your content more better to get traffic.

You don't necessarily need a website on day one. You can start by writing on platforms like Medium or Substack to practice and see what topics you actually enjoy.
That said, if your long-term goal is to build something you own and monetize through SEO, affiliate marketing, or ads, I'd recommend getting your own domain and website eventually.
One thing I wish I knew when starting was not to overthink the design or try to cover too many topics. Pick one niche, focus on solving real problems, and publish consistently. Also, learn the basics of SEO and keyword research early, but don't let SEO make your writing sound unnatural.
Start small, learn from each post, and improve as you go. You don't need everything figured out before publishing your first article.
