What gets you more engagement these days?

I'd say both Saves and Comments are equally important factors now. Obviously likes play a role, saves and comments grab more attention to the post nowadays.

Reels, shares and reshares of them are the things that give you more traffic and engagement.
They’re all closely interconnected, but in terms of ranking, shares are still my top priority.

I pay the most attention to comments and the average length of the views on my reels. The longer someone watches your reels the better it will rank with the algorithm

Profile visits and follows are the cleaner read. If a post gets saved or shared but nobody taps through to the profile, it didn’t really do its job.
Likes can be quickly forgotten because they were easily done but i notice when some one leaves a reply or shares a posts because it requires more thought.
getting more engage depend on the usage of the available added live features/buttons to share and like upload content within other and adding of captions with hashtags to get trend on pages for research and views.

tbh i check the number of responses and shares more than likes these days. Likes can be easily generated but only comments tells you if the posts made an impact on the reader mind.

Yes, shares can be an excellent signal since they place your content in front of new audiences with no additional cost. Instead of targeting only views, you should pay more attention to creating shareable posts.
It appears to me that the questions which leads people to reflects upon their own personnal experience works best. the quality discussionn in the comments section keeps a posts alive much longer than mere likes.

Likes - These matters the most, Also how many likes you got in the first hour matters even more for the algorithm to push it to explore.
Saves - This is a great parameter to check, It guarantees future views and engagement.
Shares - This matters average as shares might lead to some views and likes too, But if the shares are happening in Big IG Groups it matters even more.
Comments - Comments also matter as that is the highest parameter of engagement one can do, This helps in pushing onto explore as well.

Actually what i care about was what happens to people after they see the post. It was the clicks, saves, profile visits that means more to me than passive likes.

Pay more attention to shares and saves now, coz they show the content is actually useful enough for people to keep or send to someone.
