Reddit launches "Max Campaigns" to All Advertisers

Suddenly, reddit is trying to get more out of their adveritsing revenue.

Max campaigns, in particular, have unlocked performance for advertisers of all sizes. Launched earlier this year in beta, Max campaigns automate targeting, creative selection and rotation, placements and budget allocation, while still providing advertisers with the right amount of control to apply their own strategic expertise. The results from early testing: advertisers see 17% lower costs/CPA and over 27% more conversions with Max campaigns.

Is it just me or does this seem to go agains their whole "Keep it Real" slogan now?

So they are trying to use the 2005 google adnsense, put something above the link that makes people want to click the link (confusion) style ads to boost revenue suddenly?


Anyone else feel like there's contradictory processes going on that indicate weakness?

We should not object to it until they ruin user experience because of this. Any private company is for profit only.

Im more interested in whether the changes actually improve ad performance without making the platform feel overly commercial
