Amazon SES is usually the cheapest if you can handle the setup. Mailgun and SendGrid are easier to manage

Most delivery issues I see aren’t SMTP-related they come from poor list quality, no warm-up, or sending patterns that look automated. Even the best SMTP will burn if those basics are ignored.

A solid setup in 2025/26 generally includes:
  • Proper domain & IP warm-up
  • Clean lists (opt-in or at least well-verified)
  • Correct SPF, DKIM, DMARC
  • Reasonable sending volume and pacing
Whether you go with a commercial SMTP, email service provider, or self-hosted solution, deliverability depends more on sender reputation and behavior than the provider name itself.

It doesn't matter if someone sends spam or whatever.

Many people here have said amazon ses , now , I've worked at amazon, let me tell you what will happen if you hit their very tight bounce threshold/limit.

They will nuke your account and if you happen to be hosting on aws under the same entity, do not be surprised if they will show you the door out"you have 24hrs to host elsewhere".
