Feels like we're getting close, but I wanna see AI handle real work on its own for days without someone fixing its mistakes. That's when I'll start calling it AGI lol.

I believe this is something that can be done right now with /loop or by using openclaw/hermes, I'm doing it (VERY expensive) but not to the extent you're describing.

I don't think we will EVER reach singularity for that matter. (most of what exists now is slop created by AI and fed to AI again to create more slop), and most of frontier labs knows about this. Sure we went above the glorified autocomplete phase and tbh now it can do some crazy stuff I4ve never imagined it will in my wildest dreams. But i think we peaked in what outsourced intelligence is capable of.

Yeah, that's the crazy part. Even without AGI, a lot of jobs are already getting hit way faster than people expected.

Supposed to be a joke with how construction is not easily replaceable with AI.

However, China seems to be pushing into these massive data centers with their lead in infrastructure, labors and energy. They still have experienced work labors to expand electrical infrastructure compared to the US which electrical infrastructure industry has stagnated due to their stagnant uses of electricity over the past two decades. Their policy has a lot of focus in supporting AI industry.

I am not sure whether these advancement will be like how the past industrial revolution eliminated a lot of old jobs but also creating new jobs such as the infamous vibe coder.

If AI does succeed, we face job crisis followed by an economic collapse. And if AI doesn't succeed, we face and economic collapse followed by a job crisis. We are doomed either way it seems
