I don't understand why threads here are getting locked so fast.

I just finished reading some pages here and some members has really great ideas,
then the thread gets locked with some minimal explanation and automated reply link to newbie section to even senior members LOL (very insulting imo, you should stop that)

anyway my suggestion is before a thread gets locked it should get a more proper and respectful response. especially if OP is experienced or many other members agree.
personally it looks like a lot of great ideas by members who actually care about the forum got ghosted and too much secrecy going on.

This section dont get much views too, give it more time for other members to reply before locking unexpectedly.

just my two cents (SrY FoR mY broKen engLish)

Are you referring to threads in this section or just in general across the forum? Either way, can you give us some examples of what you're referring to and maybe we can give some insight into why they were closed.

+1 for this. Sometimes I would want to add my input to a thread but find out it was locked. Maybe add a minimum timeframe (like a week or so) before a forum suggestions thread can be closed unless it's an inquiry or something that doesn't need input from other members.

Well i have some examples but im not sure if its appropriate to share publicly (in case I'm wrong) and I can't DM yet.
maybe there shouldn't be a dm restriction from newbies to mods (just another suggestion)

Exactly, good point.

Here's the explanation of when something gets locked: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/why-and-how-threads-get-locked-on-bhw.1824036/

If we're talking in this section, things that are questions or have been answered lots and lots of times (like the escrow question), those will get locked immediately after the answer is given. If there's something that's a feature, problem, or leads to a good discussion we'll generally leave it till the discussion dies down. There isn't a set amount of days. Could be 6 hours, could be that it closes after several days and lots of interaction.

Also, for the claim that directing "experienced" members to the newbie section is insulting. If everyone "experienced" on this forum knew everything, we wouldn't be giving out as many warnings as we typically do. There's a lot of information to consume, and that information does update and change. So it's always good to keep tabs on the section no matter how long you've been around. I work here and I still constantly find new info.
