Try finding smaller niche blogs through Google using specific topic searches. Many good sites never advertise that they accept guest posts.

I thought you were the expert here, so you tell us.
I do not usually goes for the big guest posts list and just use google with niche specific terms and footprints. It was much easier to locate smaller blogs this way and you will stumble upon websites that would not appears on the lists.

To search for exclusive sites, use the method of reverse analysis of the digital footprint of opinion leaders (Expert Digital Footprint Reverse-Engineering).
Reverse engineer dead or may be expire domains within ur industry through the use of Ahrefs. Look for blogs which rank naturally on low volatile keywords but do not have any history of offering to sell their links and contacts them via cold emailing.
Look for podcasts and youtubers that specialize in ur chosen niche and approaches them directly to writes for their associated blogs. These people never get pitched, so their link profile will never be over loaded.

Stop using generic Google search operators. Look for blogs that publish resource pages, interview industry experts, or cover niche news, but don't explicitly mention "guest post." Scraping Google News for active blogs in specific sub-niches and pitching customized content directly gets you sites that aren't spammed by public link databases.

Use niche specific search footprints, competitor backlink research, industry directories, author searches & manual serp digging, smaller relevant sites with real traffic are usually better targets than simply collecting large lists of common guest post sites

Instead of limiting myself to popular lists I would prefer conducting niche research in order to find the sites competitors backlink analysis involvement in the industry community researching the content of the webpages and even establishing contacts with the webpage owners could help me find the opportunities in less saturated markets.

plz do try exploring beyond the traditional SEO footprints like industry blogs, small business blogs, local blogs even sites found in niche communities. You will surely find out some hidden treasures among them which you have yet not come across.
find better sites by going outside common guest post searches. competitor backlinks niche blogs author pages and smaller industry communities can give you some fresh sites. also check who actually getting traffic because a site with real readers is more useful than just high metrics
