I've been wandering online for over a year now chasing one quick money scheme or the other, but I always faced the challenge of either having no money to invest, restrictions of being a third world country resident, or the scheme not working. Having so much time on my hand I decided to focus on learning a skill, and I'm more of the logical, build it and see what it does type, so I settled for automation with python.
My aim was first to start as a VA, then automate my VA tasks with python to gain more experience even if I'm earning $2 per hour or even $150 monthly. So far I can automate excel, and CSV tasks, like reading, writing, cleaning and modifying data either with pandas, openpyxl, or even polar. I can scrape web pages using either selenium or playwright. I can generate, analyse, and do all sorts of operators on sales reports. Automate email sending, access API's to monitor and extract useful info's and a whole lot of other things.
But so far I'm finding it very difficult to source jobs for my skills. Upwork needs money for connects which I don't have, no body is looking at my fivver profile guess it's because I don't have reviews. A single comment on reddit always lead to an instant account ban, even tried LinkedIn but my account was hammered instantly. So I honestly want to ask is it that my automation skill is too niche specific, a wrong skill, or totally not worth it?
I want to wake up in the morning, fire my PC and work my arse off even if it means me sleeping for 5 hours a day, not sleep on empty stomachs when I like, while having terrible nightmares due to hunger and money worries. I have time, I mean lots of time, stable electricity and internet connection. What exactly am I doing wrong? I need clues and tips please.
