What SEO strategy are you focusing on right now?

For newer sites, I’m seeing the best results from a balanced mix of strong topical content technical SEO and genuinely relevant backlinks rather than relying on one tactic.

In 2026, building authority and brand signals early seems to make content rank much faster.

I’m focusing less on publishing volume and more on building topical depth. Improving existing pages, tightening internal links, and earning relevant backlinks seems to give better results than constantly adding new content.

Topical authority and entity building are now the primary focus. AI engines favor deep expertise, meaning comprehensive niche coverage outperforms cheap backlinks or generic content.
 
expired domains with topical history are still giving new projects a decent head start over fresh domains. technical SEO is more of a one time fix than an ongoing focus imo.
 
honestly for brand new sites the biggest bottleneck right now is just getting pages indexed and keeping them there... been seeing so many people struggle with that lately. in my experience focusing on brand signals and actual search intent moves the needle way faster than just dumping 50 articles on a fresh domain. expired domains can bypass the sandbox but they are risky if the topical history is messy.

I am spending more tym on structuring the content and building internal links. Backlinks are important but i would prefer to have a website that can maintain its ranking than link building for each URL.
 
newer sites focus more useful content and solid technical seo first. after that slowly build relevant backlinks and its more stable for long term growth
 
Right now I’m testing more content updates, backlink edu and user experience improvements..
 
These days, I focus heavily on content quality and on-page optimization. I also optimize my content to be more AI-search-friendly, and occasionally build backlinks through guest posts.
 
I've been trying many strategies - some were expensive, some involved tedious tasks. Years back, I moved to automation, and now I own all the link-building tools and major AI providers. I can automate tiered link building and never look back. It's safe and instant, and after all, it works for AEO and SEO guidelines since it's a super natural process.

new properties need to be very focused on topical authority via content clustering, which seems to have a lot more weight than just blasting low quality backlinks. Indexing is really tough, so it's important to make sure that there was no technical crawl budget issues from the start.
 
Same thing i was doing five years ago honestly, only cheaper now.

1. AI content on money site, edited properly, not raw copy paste
2. GsA SER on all tiers with strict filters, direct to money site for me but most people better use buffers
3. more assets, not more links per asset. 10 buffer properties beats 1 buffer with 10x the links
4. stopped paying for indexers completely, they got expensive and one more tier does the same job for free

Everyone in this thread saying "content + relevant backlinks" is right but it is not a strategy, it is a description lol. The strategy is how you get the links without paying $200 each, and for me that has been automation for decades and still is

On the link building side, I’m still seeing good results from relevant, quality links rather than just chasing volume.

For newer sites, guest posts, niche edits, and a few well picked expired domains seem to work well. I would focus more on relevance and the quality of the referring sites than the number of links.

The best SEO strategy is to plan and create high-quality content for your website and optimize it according to Google’s algorithms and SEO best practices.
 
See right now, most of Google's updates are related to content and not much SEO. so basically it is focussing on the quality of content, and SEO follows. Yep, backlinks, internal links, on page off lage seo matter, but what matters the most is intent driven organic content. So content takes an upper seat here.
 
i focused on SEO first months ago and its ranking good on google now. the trade-off was waiting months for search rankings to sink in but i had to continuously focus on the compounding parts to compliment that seed i planted months ago
 
Right now, I'm focusing on topical authority, helpful content, and high quality backlinks to build sustainable rankings.
