Hi everyone,
I am having a problem with one of my PPC campaigns and I am not really sure where the issue is. the ads are getting a decent number of clicks, but a lot of visitors leave the website within few seconds. the CTR looks okay, so people are interested enough to click but they are not staying on the page.
I checked the landing page and nothing looks brokenm. now i am thinking if the problem could be the traffic, the ad message or the landing page itself.
can anyone help me with this? I want to know what would you check first?

I think your landing page is not patronizing enough. That you are able to pull people to click it means your ads are performing great. Also there might be a disconnect between your campaign and your landing page. Find that disconnect, harmonize it so that when i click your ad, the landing page will convince me to stay.

check your page load speed first, especially on mobile. if the page takes more than 3 seconds to load most people will just click back before they even see what you are selling. also check your search query report to see what keywords actually triggered the clicks. sometimes you get broad match junk that has nothing to do with your actual offer, so people click and realize instantly it is not what they wanted.

Check the traffic source first. Break down the bounce rate by keyword, device, location, and placement. You may find that only one part of the campaign is causing the problem.

First thing I'd check is the search terms report to rule out irrelevant broad match clicks. If queries look tight then its almost always an ad-to-page message match issue where the landing page isn't delivering what the ad copy promised above the fold.

Correct. I would also segment according to time/day and landing page, since averaging may obscure the real problem. The moment the bad traffic source has been identified, it is possible to eliminate it rather than change the entire campaign.

I believe the message doesnt truly matches with what visitors see on the landing page. Also look at search terms, device traffic, and page load speed, as these can quickly reveal where the disconnect is happening

Check the traffic quality first and then check whether the traffic matches your target audience and if the landing page matches the ad and also check the page speed and mobile experience becauase small issues can make people leave quickly.

I'd check the traffic source and placements first. Good CTR means nothing if the clicks are low quality. Also check mobile speed, I've had some clients campaigns where the page looked fine on desktop but loaded like crap on mobile.

Even if you think your lp is not broken, there must be something wrong with it, maybe design wise etc

i think your landing page isnt really convicing enough right now. the fact that your getting people to click on the ads already shows that the ads themselves are working pretty well, so the main problem might be what happens after the click. there could also be some inconsitency between the ad campain and the landing page, maybe the messege or offer doesnt really match what people expected when they clicked. i would try to find exactly where that missmatch is and fix it, so when someone clicks the ad they imidiately see something that makes sense and gives them a reason to stay. if your getting clicks but people are leaving right away, then the landing page is probaly where you should focus first, becuase there is clearly some thing stopping them from going any further

search keyword nd mobile speed issues will be looked at first. once these have been sorted out, it seem there may be a discrepancy between what is offered in the advertisement nd what the customer sees upon visiting the website.
