Do you explain the "why" behind SEO recommendations, or just tell clients what to do?

Some clients want the reasoning every time; others just want the task list. Curious how much explanation you actually give by default before they ask for it.

Explain the benefits for them - that’s all they care about and rightly so.

Normally i begin with providing the client with a brief explanation as to why i have chosen a certain recommendation so that the client can grasp the reasons for that particular recommendation it varies significantly from client to client but the explanation plays a crucial role.

A short explanation adds value to your work, even though in my experience most of the time they don't even know what you are talking about...

I usually explain the why briefly, especially when a recommendation affects strategy or budget, clients should understand the reasoning, but there's no need to over explain every routine task, the level of detail depends on the client

All a client is interested in is how the service will help him. I don't dump more that necessary info at the start. A simple list with basic info on the WHY and RECOMMENDATION is enough. But clients vary. So I work with each as per their knowledge level and expectations.
