What type of Instagram content gets your attention?

I feel like Instagram has changed a lot over the years. Short videos seem to dominate. Good photos and useful posts can still stand out. What type of content do you personally stop scrolling for?

Usually stuff that gets to the point fast, tbh. A good first frame or a caption that actually adds something will stop me way more than another over-edited reel. If it feels specific and not like it was made just to chase trends, I’ll pause for a sec.

I'm often drawn to short videos; sometimes I can spend hours watching them without being able to stop.
 
When browsing Instagram, I tend to pay more attention to Reels than to image-based posts like I used to. It seems that Reels are becoming the dominant trend on Instagram.
 
Anything that feels authentic or teaches me something useful usually makes me stop scrolling.
 
i think with the short attention span of the new generation, i think the thumbnail and the first 3 seconds of 'click bait' works most effective. e.g. DIML of a millionaire farmer, Run to xxx for $5 smoothie

and nowadays for fashion related reels, u can see most female getting dressing as a good 'clickbait' - 3 seconds duration & visual enticing
 
I usually stop for something that feels genuine rahter overly polished. A good hook helps but the content itself matters more.
 
I usually notice content that feels useful or relatable especially short videos with a strong hook If it teaches me something or gives me a reason to keep watching I’m more likely to engage

content that is eye catching right away tends to be the most effective particularly if it is useful has a narrative or is genuine Short videos can work effectively but relevant and original posts continue to make an impression.
 
I usually stop for posts that feel relatable or give me something worth thinking about. It could be a funny clip, a simple tip I can actually use or something that makes me curious enough to keep watching. It does not need to be polished or perfect if the idea itself is interesting.
 
I usually notice useful posts, simple tips and interesting ideas. Short videos that teach something or show a real result also catch my attention.
 
For me it’s content that teaches me something quickly or makes me curious enough to stop scrolling. Reels usually grab attention first but useful carousels can keep me engaged longer
 
honestly i mostly stop for niche hobby stuff now... like restoration videos or woodworking where there is no annoying voiceover or loud music. those over-edited reels with the giant text on screen just make me swipe away instantly tbh. if i see a nice clean photo of a cool landscape or something i actually pause longer just because it feels so rare now.
