You can check the IPs on MaxMind, Scamalytics and verify they are real IPs. Residential proxies are usually more flagged than normal human ISP IPs.

You should first check the traffic source, device, and region. You can manage this effectively with the help of TrafficGuardian tools.
Not necessarily bots. There’s often a big gap between Reddit Ads clicks and actual sessions in Shopify/GA due to things like tracking loss, delayed page loads, ad blockers, or users bouncing before the page fully fires analytics. “Cloaking” gets mentioned a lot, but in most cases it’s usually tracking or attribution issues rather than that. I’d double-check your UTM setup, landing page speed, and whether GA is firing correctly on first load before assuming it’s fake traffic.

check ur mobile optimization and speed.
Also if ur using a generic template reddit bots might just be bouncing before the page even loads.

Doesn’t look normal tbh. Some drop between clicks and sessions is fine, but 150 clicks -> 5 visits usually means tracking/cloaker/redirect issue or low quality bot traffic. I’d first test the ad link manually on mobile and check server logs before blaming Reddit completely.

Yes i would suggest you to first check your tracking setup and then reddit clicks and analytics visits can be very different.

honestly reddit is notorious for accidental clicks, especially on the mobile feed. people fat finger the ad while scrolling and close the in-app browser before the page even starts loading. if your site takes more than like 2 seconds to load, ga wont register the visit at all. might be worth checking your mobile load times or trying desktop-only targeting for a test to see if the discrepancy gets any better.

I think that gap does not automatically mean bots, You should always check your tracking first and compare Reddit Pixel data with Shopify and make sure your landing page is loading properly.

150 to 5 is a big gap, so check your tracking and server logs first. If you see repeated IPs or weird traffic patterns, block those sources.
