What Turns an Ordinary Article Into a Great One?

To me, it’s about whether the article actually solves the reader's problem without forcing them to wade through filler. Good organization, personal insight, good examples, and fulfilliing the intent more than others are usually most important.
Absolutely agree. When an article genuinely solves the reader’s problem and provides real value, it naturally stands out. Quality and relevance matter far more than filler.

For me the keywords and the language matters as the reader shouldn't be bored while reading my article and can understand the topic clearly in normal and short words.Aswell as you need to analyze the analytics and content to make a new one.

The personal touch is a "must" these days.. crap writers with no sass has always been common, however with Ai becoming the go to choice for a vast majority of people now.. it's lead to the quality of content out there being absolute horse shit. The real human flare, humour and that charismatic persona is a big vantage point and solid edge to have now I feel.

The question itself says it all. What are the factors that take a piece from being passable to something more?
What distinguishes an exceptional article from an ordinary one is firsthand experience and a distinct perspective, rather than recycled content. A truly great piece eliminates filler, delivers genuine actionable depth, and speaks to readers in an authentically human voice.

main thing is if the article actually helps the reader without making them go through alot of useless filler.good structure real insights helpful

A great article gives you the answer without making you dig through filler. Clear writing, useful details and something original make the biggest difference.

There should be depth. The article should cover everything in so much detail, that the reader needs no other resource for any more doubts.

For me, a good article gets straight to the point. I don't want to scroll through a bunch of stuff just to find one answer.
A few solid examples make a big difference too.

While a normal article provides facts an excellent one provides a reader with a good reason to keep going. I would appreciate having some real life stories, opinions and some other concrete examples.

a good article cannot simply be defined by accuracy alone such an article must address the readers questions be comprehensible and provide some value the use of relevant examples proper organization and insight can go a long way in that regard.

Hooking the reader from the get to go with the first two sentences, as well as providing genuine firsthand experience. If all you were doing is regurgitating the top 3 google results using different words, you’ll always end up with dry AI slop regardless of formatting.

Personal knowledge and gud editing skills. Just cut all the rubbish and answer the reader question in the first two sentences and it will be better than most of the garbage that exists.

It is always custom screen shots or visuals tbh. when every site is using walls of texts using any actual evidence or UI screenshots that you have taken makes it so much more legitimate.

For me the difference is usually experience.... as you can have perfect structure, SEO, headings and research, but if the article just repeats what the first 10 Google results already say, there is not much reason to read it.
Real examples, mistakes, tests, numbers, screenshots, opinions... this is what usually makes an article worth remembering for readers.
