What would be the safest way to send 40k to someone if you dont want to lose it in case something goes wrong?

The safest option is escrow.

The funds are held by a trusted third party until both sides fulfill the agreement.

Avoid sending the full amount directly or using crypto, as those payments can be difficult or impossible to reverse.

yes escrow is good but i need the person to be able to use that money for something for around 30 days before returning to me and escrow terms wont work with that as far as i know

For $40k, I wouldn’t send it directly. Use a reputable escrow service where the funds are held until both sides fulfill the agreed terms. For a large amount, verify the escrow company independently and make sure the release conditions are written down clearly.

I think for $40k you should use a trusted escrow service or a bank transfer with a written agreement and also avoid methods with no buyer protection.

I see. Bank transfer or any traceable method but if it's a loan, ultimately you're relying on their ability and willingness to repay.

I recommend PayPal ….seamless for me

Credit/Debit card even better.

Problem is nobody sane would accept a $40k payment by any of these payment methods (paypal/card).

You'll need an escrow service for larger payments. Alternatively a written contract and meet in person or getting lawyers involved might be more ideal.
