Discussion Topic: Would You Trade One of Your Five Senses for a New Superpower?

No, because I get stupid super powers. Such as the tallest person at the concert standing in front of me. Generating the mosh pit around me no matter where I am in the crowd. Having a full pint of beer spilt on me. And the most recent, people having a full blown conversation right next to me during a set.

I don't think I can endure anymore.

Imagine a scientist offers you a once-in-a-lifetime upgrade.

You must permanently give up one of your five senses sight, hearing, smell, taste, or touch.

In return, you gain the ability to see Wi-Fi signals everywhere around you. You would be able to spot the strongest connections, find dead zones instantly, detect hidden networks, and literally watch data moving through the air.

It sounds like a cool superpower at first...But then reality kicks in.

Is any technological ability really worth losing one of the senses you've relied on your entire life?

Some people might sacrifice taste without thinking twice. Others would argue that even losing smell would dramatically change how you experience the world.

So here's the question:

Do you take the deal?

If yes, which sense are you giving up?

And if no, what makes your five senses more valuable than gaining a completely new ability that no human currently has?

Let's see how many people choose the superpower... and how many decide being human is already enough.
I can give up my hearing, I’m already wearing headphones for hours every day. Sooner or later, it’s probably going to be taken away from me anyway, so I might as well trade it while I still can.

Give me a better alternative power like I can control the time. I will think about it... And If I want to choose one sense to loose it would be smelling.
