When primary keyword highly competitive i would look out for secondary keywords that may not be difficult to target.these keywords are generally easier target and even generate some good traffic for the website.

I’d start with Google suggestions, Search Console and competitor pages first. then use tools like Ahrefs or Semrush to check volume and difficulty.

for me, search intent is more important now than just chasing high-volume keywords.
