Hi everyone,

I am looking for honest advice from people who have personally experienced this situation. I am keeping the domain private initially to avoid spam and unsolicited services, but I can share limited additional information with a trusted established member if genuinely required.

I am not interested in instant-indexing services, PBNs, or backlink packages. I first want to understand the actual cause.

Basic information

  • Niche: Windows, software, app and gaming troubleshooting.
  • Platform: Static HTML hosted on Netlify.
  • Launched: Late June 2026.
  • First GSC impressions: June 30, 2026.
  • No intentional paid backlinks or forced-indexing services.
The problem

The website initially reached 17 indexed pages and later increased to 18. It also began receiving search impressions.

After that, nearly every content page was removed from Google’s index. The latest Page Indexing report shows:

  • Indexed: 1 — only the homepage.
  • Crawled — currently not indexed: 21.
  • Page with redirect: 1.
  • Manual Actions: No issues detected.
  • Security Issues: No issues detected.
The affected pages were previously indexed, so this is not simply a case where Google never discovered them.

Important timeline

  • Late June: Website launched.
  • July 9: Sitemap submitted successfully; 28 URLs initially discovered.
  • Early/mid-July: 17–18 URLs indexed.
  • July 14: AdSense rejected the site for “Low value content.”
  • Mid-July: Major sitewide content, navigation, internal-linking, authorship, citations, legal-page and technical improvements completed.
  • July 26: Validation started when only two pages were affected.
  • August 5: Validation failed after the affected count increased to 21.
  • Early August: Another complete mobile, navigation, content-quality, 404 and indexing audit was performed.
  • Latest available Page Indexing data is dated August 14.
Search performance before the drop

At its earlier peak, GSC showed approximately:

  • 4 clicks.
  • 2.09K impressions.
  • 0.2% CTR.
  • Average position around 31.
Later, weekly impressions dropped from approximately 544 to 26—a decline of about 95%.

Technical checks completed

The live sitemap currently contains 36 unique URLs. My crawl found:

  • Every sitemap URL returns HTTP 200.
  • Self-referencing canonical tags are present.
  • No accidental noindex tags.
  • No blocking X-Robots-Tag headers.
  • robots.txt allows crawling.
  • Sitemap is valid.
  • Googlebot receives the same HTML as a normal browser.
  • Main content is present directly in the HTML.
  • Internal links are crawlable.
  • Redirects behave consistently.
  • A fake URL returns a genuine 404.
  • No duplicate full-page bodies were found inside the site.
Content disclosure

Most early pages were keyword-driven troubleshooting guides created with substantial AI assistance. They were subsequently reviewed, rewritten, expanded and supported with official primary sources.

They were not intentionally copied, but most pages do not contain first-hand reproduction of the errors, original screenshots, testing logs or before/after evidence.

I suspect this may be the main weakness, especially because AdSense separately classified the site as “Low value content.”

My questions

  1. Does temporary indexing followed by almost complete removal normally indicate a sitewide quality/trust reassessment?
  2. Is this type of domain realistically recoverable, or would you park it and start another project?
  3. If attempting recovery, would you:
    • Retain only three to five genuinely strong pages?
    • Merge/remove generic guides?
    • Rebuild selected pages with original screenshots and first-hand tests?
    • Leave the current URLs stable and wait?
    • Take another approach?
  4. Are backlinks premature while the underlying content may still lack differentiation?
  5. Is there another technical test worth performing when Googlebot can access the pages and no robots, canonical, noindex, server or manual-action issue is visible?
  6. Has anyone recovered from a similar situation where only the homepage remained indexed? What materially changed before recovery?
I would appreciate blunt, experience-based feedback. I am not expecting guarantees.

Since the pages were previously indexed, compare affected and retained URLs. Check canonical tags, status and response headers, duplicate templates, internal-link depth, sitemap dates and content differentiation. Server logs can confirm whether Googlebot revisits the pages.

It seems more like quality assessment rather than a technical issue. In my opinion, we should start by redeveloping a couple of pages with actual tests, screen-shots and unique observations, rather than links.

Could you rewrite this in plain, human language instead of using AI?
Right now, it looks like a huge IKEA instruction manual.
Maybe I can help you with it.

AdSense will always say “Low value content." for new sites that have few pages so that doesn't necessary mean that your content is bad. However, Google moving all your posts from indexed to Crawled but not indexed is most likely related to the content of your pages. Either because of thin content or Google found your rewritten content as plagiarized.

Your issues are very common on new sites with AI assisted content in competitive niches like software troubleshooting where good content already exists everywhere.
