What do you guys think. Is relevance more important than DA/DR when picking a site for backlinks. What is the first thing you check? and How do you decide that this Site is Relevant.

Relevance is probably the first filter I use. I ask myself, Would a reader of this website naturally find my link useful? Then I check the site’s rankings, content quality, traffic, and outbound links. A high DR site with unrelated or spammy content wouldn’t be my first choice.

I look at the content on the site. If they write about topics similar to mine, I consider it relevant.

For me relevance is the first thing, then I check DR, traffic and the site quality.

Of course, it’s all about the relevance to me. First, I need to see if the website fits to my industry, and only then I pay attention to DA/DR.

relevance will be my no. one concern after that is organic traffic nd whether the website is ranked for keywords. DR will allow me to narrow down the websites, but not necessarily the deciding factor.

For me, relevance comes before DA/DR. I first check whether the site genuinely covers the same niche, has real organic traffic, and has a natural backlink profile.
I usually judge relevance by topical content, audience, existing ranking keywords, and the context of the page where the link will be placed

Relevance should definitely be a major factor, but it shouldn't be the only one. A good backlinks should ideally come from a relevant trustworthy site with real organic traffic and quality content. DA/DR can help with comparing domains, but relaying on those metrics alone can be misleading. The content of the link and the quality of the referring page matter much more.

Usually check relevance first, then traffic, content quality, and link profile. A lower dr site closely related to my topic can be more useful than a high dr site with no real relevance.
the priority for me would be relevance, then organic visits nd finally the backlink profile. It makes no sense to have a high DR value if there is zero relevance to the website and zero visitors.

Absolutely. I prioritize topical relevance first, then evaluate organic traffic, content quality, and overall site authority. DA/DR is useful, but it’s not the only metric I rely on.

A simple way to check relevance is to see whether the site already covers topics close to yours. If your content would look out of place there, the site probably is not a good match.

Typically I looks at the out bound links and which pages the site ranks for first before looking at DR. When the site appears to be nthing more than a link farm the figure next to DR is really meaningless imo.

Check how the site links to other websites. If the links look natural and are actually useful to readers, that can be a better sign than just looking at the DR number.

Relevance comes first for me, I usually check the site's niche, content, traffic & whether the pages are actually indexed, da/dr is useful as a secondary metric, but it shouldn't be the deciding factor

A site can have high DR but still be useless if it has nothing to do with your niche. I’d pick a relevant site with decent quality over that.
